about

After releasing his debut EP „Throwback“, Monophobe is following it up with an accompanied Remix EP that showcases a sample of his roots in the domestic music scene. For „Throwback Remixes“, the young DJ and producer invited a close selection of electronic talent to leave their mark on the still fresh tracks of his debut release. These interpretations come in many forms, as label colleague Abby Lee Tee demonstrates by throttling down the contemplative „Lotus Bloom“ even more, while established sound artist Ritornell breaks down the track „The Other Day“ into its components, only to serve them up piece by piece. For the remix of „Racoon Care“, Monophobe got swedish soundmaker YLWFRND on board, Vienna’s Zanshin of Affine Records reworked „Analogic“ into a House track with driving beats. And for „Cluster“, Karma Art transformed the mood of the piece from sensual tranquility to droning, electrifying excitement. Monophobe, a big fan of Remixes himself, descriped this EP as an opportunity to have people working on his songs who are not only close to his work, but also an inspiration for himself.
